9-box grid

A grid placing people by performance and potential.

The 9-box grid places each person on two scales, performance and potential, each split into low, medium and high, giving nine boxes. It helps spot future leaders, steady performers and people who need support. In Vintage People ratings from 1 to 5 map to the boxes: bands 4 and 5 are high, band 3 is medium, and bands 1 and 2 are low.
